Dear Editor,   The Guyana Sugar Corporation Inc (GuySuCo) wishes to respond to a letter that was published in the Stabroek News on August 19, 2016 under the caption ‘GAWU sent more than 12 letters to GuySuCo for which no acknowledgement has been received’.

Dear Editor, I am very pleased to see the relaxation of the ludicrous dress code in Guyana, starting with Trevor Benn of Lands and Surveys and finally the President pronouncing on it.

Dear Editor, Regardless of being overused the saying, ‘The health of the nation is the wealth of the nation’ will always remain relevant.

Dear Editor, The letter by Mr Hamilton Green in the media yesterday which rightly lamented the importation of foreign fruits grown abundantly in Guyana appealed to my passion as kitchen gardener and cane farmer; it also resonated with my belief that our national educational programmes must extend beyond the liberal arts and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (Stem) to ‘Steam’ by adding ‘agriculture’ to the mnemonic ‘stem’ acronym.

Dear Editor, The public must, by now, be accustomed to the curious and uncanny habit of Attorney-General, Mr Basil Williams, to blame the “previous administration” or the “former AG”, or both, whenever he finds himself in a conundrum on any given issue.

Dear Editor, Congratulations to Fatima Karim on what can only be described as an enormous achievement.

Dear Editor, After World War II, the model of community development which prevailed depended largely on outside experts and resources.

Dear Editor,   One of the major industries in Guyana will be tourism.

Dear Editor, Mind over matter is how the article on sports psychology by Simon Hughes in the latest edition of the Cricketer magazine is described.

Dear Editor, The Guyana Agricultural and General Workers Union (GAWU) refers to those comments attributed to the Guyana Sugar Corporation Inc (GuySuCo) on page 12 and 22 of the August 17, 2016 edition of Stabroek News in which the corporation asserted that no letters were received from the union requesting that GuySuCo engage GAWU on a number of issues.

Dear Editor, It burned my heart when I read in your Thursday issue that our national Junior Table Tennis team may not make it to the Caribbean Champion-ships because of lack of funds.

Dear Editor, The recent press release from the Guyana Human Rights Association (GHRA) needs to be read and understood in a national perspective. 

Dear Editor, The 2016 CSEC results are out, and The Marian Academy did spectacularly, all things considered. 

Dear Editor, Qualifying for a final of any kind at the Olympic level to my mind is a great accomplishment.

Dear Editor, As a working-class law student who has just completed my three years at the University of Guyana, Law Department, I cannot allow the recent achievement of Minister of Legal Affairs/ Attorney General Basil Williams to go unheralded.

Dear Editor, We wonder if the powers that be at GTT could give us a precise, pellucid and benign explanation as to why the internet service they provide is very slow ‒ ie slower than a lame cockroach crawling over a thick spread of molasses!
