Dear Editor,   I hate to disagree with a focused and determined patriot.

Dear Editor,   I am responding to a letter from Mahendra Hariraj in response to a letter I wrote which stated that I agreed with the cuts to NCN and GINA.

 Dear Editor,   There has been much debate surrounding the long overdue Public Procurement Commission (PPC), so well enshrined in the Constitution of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana (with amendments to 12th August, 2003).

Dear Editor, It seems as if I have been hasty in switching my support from the PPP/C to the AFC.

Dear Editor, I have been a rice farmer for the past 56 years.

Dear Editor, When India were reeling at 80 for 5 in reply to the W/Indies first innings score in the first test, the outcome of the match hung in the balance and could have gone W/Indies way.

Dear Editor, We at Pro Guyana are dismayed but unsurprised by the ongoing contest of attitudes between Mr Mark DaCosta and Ms Melinda Janki, not least because their sentiments are probably widely representative.

Dear Editor, The PPP/C elite has been unrelentingly critical of the positions taken by the opposition in the matter of the Anti-Money Laundering and Coun-tering of Terrorism (Amendment) legislation (AML/CFT).

Dear Editor, We note how the Guyana Chronicle devoted most of its page to the Courts Main Street Xmas Light Up ‒ “a fairy land festooned with twinkling coloured lights,” but this event exposes a further decline in the affairs of Guyana.

Dear Editor, Someone once said that all it takes for evil to succeed is for a few good men to do nothing.

Dear Editor, I have followed the letters between Senior Counsel Mr Rex McKay (SN Oct 31 and November 11) and the Attorney General Mr Anil Nandlall (SN Nov 4 and 17).

Dear Editor, We have been listening very carefully to the Minister of Health Dr Bheri Ramsaran and other senior members of the PPP who have spoken about the need for a better public health care system but have not done anything substantial to improve the poor conditions at the public hospitals.

Dear Editor, Stakeholders  are calling for an inquiry into the Good Hope/Pomona Neighbour-hood Democratic Council (NDC).

Dear Editor, Radio Demerara, the Voice of Guyana, needs to do a number of simple things to improve itself and give a better service to listeners: (1)  Programme schedules should be published and should be strictly followed – this is standard procedure in all proper radio stations.

Dear Editor, With respect to the bizarre events which unfolded on Middle Street last Tuesday, from indications, there seems to be limited public sympathy for the police following the death of two officers, even among foreign nationals.

Dear Editor, From the outset, I need to disclose two factors: the first is that I am an African-American Guyanese businessman who owns and operates medium-sized businesses in both Guyana and North America; secondly I have an ongoing concern about the apparent unwillingness of African-American persons to seek involvement in the private sector within Guyana and other countries around the world.

Dear Editor, I had the privilege several nights ago to view Attorney General Anil Nandlall’s presentation of the views shared by his party and government on the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (Amendment) Bill as well as opinions they share om the majority of the people’s representatives (opposition).

Dear Editor, In your Monday, November 18 letter to the editor section, you carried a letter written by Frank Fyffe entitled ‘ACDA Feast of the Year was not well attended by young people.’

Dear Editor, There is an unhealthy despicable theory circulating in the camp of those opposed to law and order and good governance, especially when it comes to the operations of the police force.
