Dear Editor, I recently made another visit to Guyana, the third in as many years and as usual, upon my return to Florida where I now reside I have been inundated with the familiar “How is Guyana?”

Dear Editor, I am just writing to say thank you to the GWI for their speedy action on my sewage problem.

Dear Editor, The recent announcement that rice production has surpassed last year’s production by over 100,000 tonnes and keeps increasing on a yearly basis can be attributed to the competent management of Guyana’s rice industry by the PPP/C Government and also to our rice farmers.

Dear Editor,  It has been said that one of the measures of a developed nation or one on the path to development is the importance that it attaches to the well-being of its very young and its elderly.

Dear Editor,  There seem to be an attitude of callous indifference to interpersonal relationships and/or human relations by some top members of organisations, institutions and business entities when dealing with the public or persons involved within their own sphere.

Dear Editor,  Three years ago, I identified the local lunatic fringe to Guyanese readers. 

Dear Editor,  What practical solutions to existing problems will local government elections (LGE) bring? 

Dear Editor, For persons and institutions who may be interested in learning further of the regional administration, the following information may just be helpful.

Dear Editor, I read in the Tuesday’s edition of the SN an article entitled ‘Country prepared for December/January rainy season – Ramsammy.’

Dear Editor, Please allow me to echo and support the sentiments of Ganga Persaud in his letter captioned ‘There was poor germination of rice seedlings from Burma station this crop.’

Dear Editor, A few years ago the western section of the east coast corridor was a very picturesque scene at night as all the roads lights were in working condition, and there seemed to be a maintenance programme in place to replace any defective or damaged units.

Dear Editor, As you are aware the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF), an organisation of states and territories of the Caribbean Basin established in 1990 to implement common counter-measures against money laundering, has identified the legislative and other measures taken by Guyana to deal with money laundering and the financing of terrorism as deficient.

Dear Editor, It appears as though we are patronizing chaos in our education sector, or are we?

Dear Editor, I am outraged by the recent examples of a blatant disregard for criminal justice, lack of accountability by the police, and a growing sense of personal insecurity in our communities. 

Dear Editor, For those who may not grasp the significance of the newly refurbished Rosignol School being declared an ‘A’ list school (SN, November 14) the information following may provide some understanding of the rating.

Dear Editor, In Guyana, criminals are not only killing innocent people, they are also killing the country.

Dear Editor, The judiciary is gradually being taken over by women, so much so, that an Association of Women Judges has been formed in Trinidad and Tobago and moves have been initiated to establish a Caribbean Associa-tion of Female Judges.

Dear Editor, My perception of the GRA in its new location was one of expedition and reliability relative to matters of the public.

Dear Editor, I extend the very best of good wishes to all those young people and their teachers who have come from the four corners of Guyana to engage one another in healthy rivalry at the Castellani Pool, on the roadways, and in the National Stadium at Providence.

Dear Editor, A large portion of a thoroughfare which in the past was used to provide ingress and egress to the Lima sideline dam and which is under the control of the Anna Regina Town Council, has now been converted into rice lands, vegetable garden plots and is even being used for the construction of a dwelling house in violation of the law.
