Dear Editor, In two recent front-page stories in the local press, it was interesting to read of the sterling efforts being made by government to ensure the continuance of “business” for our music cart vendors.

Dear Editor, During a recent visit to the Hope Canal Project (HCP) by the Parliamentary Sectoral Committee (PSC) on Natural Resources and reported by SN of July 13, Minister Ramsammy revealed that HCP will need an extension of the completion deadline of August 31.

Dear Editor, Permit me a few column inches to respond to an article, which appeared in the Sunday July 7, 2013 edition of the Kaieteur News captioned ‘Is the Guyana Govt charging tourists a tax on their pets?’

Dear Editor, I’m glad I did not go to cricket on Sunday nor I was invited (for free).

Dear Editor, I was a member of the Region 10 team that travelled to Kwakwani for our 47th Independence Anniversary celebrations. 

Dear Editor, I was quite surprised to read that the Editor in Chief of Kaieteur News Mr Adam Harris, an experienced journalist and a young reporter had been cited by Mr Justice Reynolds for contempt of court and he had convicted both of them and fined them certain sums of money.

Dear Editor, I am amazed at the type of coverage given by my favourite television station, CNN, to the George Zimmerman murder trial.

Dear Editor, It was the headline on page 4 of Saturday’s SN which captured my attention: ‘Lithuanian capital to install public “happiness barometer.”’

Dear Editor, The Guyana Police Force is responding to an article published in the Guyana Times of Friday July 12, 2013, under the caption ‘Nine-year-old boy among three held for gun, ammo’.

Dear Editor, I was recently in a taxi on the East Bank Road when I saw a beautiful bird in a cage, in the very hot mid-morning sun.

Dear Editor, The hope for fairness, good governance and the equal distribution of our natural resources to all Guyanese people, has been replaced by cynicism, despair and gross corruption.

Dear Editor, Travelling across the Demerara Harbour Bridge on Friday, July 12th around 5.30pm (rush hour), there was a long line of vehicles on the bridge and it took us more than half an hour to cross.

Dear Editor, Last week had its share of surprises.  There was Vincent Alexander with his ‘revelations.’

Dear Editor, A few weeks ago when I commented on the wrongness of Peeping Tom’s postulations on local government, he/she responded and prefaced that response by declaring that the response was an exceptional act, since directly responding to critiques of  his/her columns was against the norm and editorial policy.

Dear Editor, We were distressed when we opened the July 3 issue of the Stabroek News and saw the faces of the three young men who have been condemned to death. 

Dear Editor, I regret the unresolved disagreement over my Business Page column of May 5, 2013.
