Dear Editor,    There seems to be a very irrational and misinformed opinion in GuySuCo about how farmers get their canes cut, whilst the estates are experiencing a shortage of labour and can’t harvest their canes on time.

Dear Editor, I refer to the statement from the Agriculture Minister and Mr Leekha Rambrich of the Guyana Rice Producers Association saying the paddy price is the same as the last crop ($4,000- $3,700 per bag). 

Dear Editor, I am a television host on the live call-in programme on TTS Ch5 in Bartica.

Dear Editor, Inevitably, in the wake of Vincent Alexander’s seismic revelations of what would have amounted to subverting the will of the people in favour of the People’s Progressive Party, there will be – outside of the inevitable cowardly campaign to seek to discredit him – a barrage of rhetorical questions about the late timing of these revelations.

Dear Editor, It is interesting to note that at page xxxii of the Sunday Chronicle of June 30, 2013, the Guyana Prison Service, through the Ministry of Home Affairs; invites applications “for the positions of four (4) Medical Officers (Georgetown, Mazaruni, Timehri and New Amsterdam) on GS 10 – $207,224 per month (Revised 2012).”

Dear Editor, I read Tony Vieira’s letter (SN, July 9) titled, ‘Compa-rison with Iacocca and Bloomberg was nonsense,’ which was a response to my letter in SN of July 7.

Dear Editor, Guyana is one of the few countries where there is free education and health delivery services at the primary level.

Dear Editor, Please let me respond to Tony Vieira’s letter (July 10) on proposed joint projects with Brazil.

Dear Editor, Reference is made to the alarming traffic deaths and road accident statistics recently released by the Guyana Police Force.

Dear Editor, Reference is made to the letter published in the Stabroek News dated Thursday, July 4, 2013 and bearing the caption, ‘Still waiting for NIS Old Age Pension.’

Dear Editor, Please allow me to respond to the letter bearing the caption ‘NIS benefits problem,’ which was published in the Monday, July 8, 2013 edition of Stabroek News.

Dear Editor, Four weeks have elapsed since two letters (J Tekchand, KN, June 13) and (W W Alexander, SN, June 16), asking that fuller details of the 2013 NGSA be published appeared in the local press.
