Dear Editor,
An erroneous and lamentable article was published in the Guyana Chronicle of February 1, 2013 under the caption ‘Kumar charges Opposition with frustrating local government elections,’ in which PPP/C MP, Neil Kumar accuses the opposition of “frustrating the efforts of the government to discuss the local government Bills and, subsequently hold local government elections” (sic).

Mr Bates’s contribution to Stabroek News, January, 31 makes for interesting reading (‘Route 32 minibuses not going as far as the Vreed-en-Hoop stelling’).

Following Justice Insanally’s recent decision that a mines officer of GGMC had not shown cause why an order nisi to quash a cease work order should not be made absolute and that the Isseneru Village Council had not shown cause why the order nisi prohibiting them from exercising any form of control over the mining operations of a miner should not be made absolute, the Amerindians, the GHRA and others have sought to use the media to defame the Honourable Judge and bring the administration of justice into disrepute, thereby themselves committing unjustifiable conduct and indefensible contempt of court, which the Attorney General should pursue in defence of the judiciary.
Dear Editor,
From the perspective of telecommunications/broadcasting, it is extremely important that everyone ought to be interested in what is available, or has been allocated by the NFMU, or is in use in the ‘airwaves sector.’
Dear Editor,
For a number of years commuters have had to endure hardship at the Vreed-en-Hoop stelling just to please a few bitter Route 32 minibus operators.
Dear Editor,
It was somewhat appalling to see on one of the evening television newscasts a full view of the face of the six-year-old child who is alleged to have been playing with matches, which led to a fire and the death of an infant who was just over a month old.
Dear Editor,

Dear Editor,
My heart bleeds for my country. The shooting of Mr Oscar Clarke and senseless attacks on his family at their residence serve as another reminder of the level to which this country has sunk and the quality of political leadership coming from the Minister of Home Affairs, Mr Clement Rohee.
