Dear Editor, Quite apart from the break in the trend of timing (usually in December) of the announcement and payout of across-the-board increases to public servants, and members of the disciplined forces, the 2011 announcing of an 8% across-the-board increase to the named categories, raises at this particular juncture a number of interesting questions.

Dear Editor, Agriculture Minister, PPP Central Committee member and Donald Ramotar‘s Campaign Manager Robert Persaud, is reported as issuing a statement denouncing what he says was the ongoing campaign of the opposition parties heading into this month`s general elections to pin corruption to the PPP/C.

Dear Editor Mr Donald Ramotar has recently returned to the theme of the WPA’s betrayal of Walter Rodney because of its alliance with the PNC in the APNU partnership.

Dear Editor, I have seen the reports in the newspapers about the Governor of Roraima, Brazil mounting the PPP/C campaign platform, an act which is contrary to all international diplomatic norms, and whilst I understand that the opposition political parties are outraged by this act, I actually would like to add another dimension to this matter.

Dear Editor, This election will be about ‘issues,’ we are told.

Dear Editor, The issuance of a statement by the Federal Government of Brazil through its diplomatic mission in Georgetown reiterating its respect for Guyana’s sovereignty and making its neutrality clear about the upcoming national elections is a welcome and masterful use of public diplomacy.

Dear Editor, The spending by the government of $37 million on the eve of elections to acquire a water cannon which it earlier claimed is intended to deal with demonstrators, reveals an ugly underbelly that must be exposed.

Dear Editor, I am writing to express my total disgust at the way in which the ruling elite – led by Mr Jagdeo and his appointed adviser, now the presidential candidate, Mr Donald Ramotar, have completely violated all the civilized rules and regulations governing a fair and free election to be held on November 28.

Dear Editor, We all know that this is the most important season in the life of the nation of Guyana – elections.
