Dear Editor , I would like to ask our engineers a very simple question  to do with the ramp that is stationary and permanently anchored, while at some point attached to it by hinges is a drawbridge – anchored to a pontoon.

Dear Editor, On February 8, 2010, I caused to be hand-delivered to the offices of the Minister of Legal Affairs, the Permanent Secretary to the said Ministry and the Registrar of Deeds a letter addressed to the said Minister dated February 3, 2010 dealing with aspects of the performance of the department known as the Deeds Registry. 

‘Immoral’ books have won the Guyana Prize for Literature

Dear Editor, I was delighted to read Mr Al Creighton’s reply (‘The rules which apply to international literary awards also apply to the Guyana Prize for Literature’ SN, April 30) to my letter of April 29 arguing that former judges of the Guyana Prize for Literature should not be allowed to submit entries.
