Letters to the Editor

GPSU has sent a message of expectation to public servants

Dear Editor, In SN of Tuesday June 11, 2019, the president of the Guyana Public Service Union used the occasion of announcing the 96th Anniversary, to send a strong indication of the latter’s agenda for future negotiations with the government, which must be regarded as its expectation of being part, if not all, of the terms of reference of the – ‘high level committee’ proffered by the President, when, with a group of Ministers, he met the GPSU’s president a few weeks ago.

Disposals of seized vehicles by the GRA are done in a fair and consistent manner

Dear Editor, As Commissioner-General of the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA), I am usually dissuaded from responding to statements in the press when made by politicians, and especially those whom I deem to be leaders, or previous leaders who held the highest positions in government, and had direct influence and responsibility over the administration and the laws that govern the Authority.

My work is to highlight grand theft of the people’s wealth, main opposition poses biggest threat to oil future

Dear Editor, Due to my continued work highlighting grand thefts and forfeitures of billions of US dollars by our politicians past and present, of the oil wealth which belongs to the people of Guyana and which does not belong to the politicians and companies, there have been and will continue to be attempts to discredit my message by trying to discredit the messenger.
