Letters to the Editor

Belated explanation

Dear Editor, The President of the WICB feels obliged to explain after the ICC has decided to abandon the proposal for a two tier Test system, that the board did not support it.

Apology to the Indigenous people

Dear Editor, Please permit me the space to offer an apology to the Minister of Indigenous Peoples Affairs, Mr S Allicock, and the Indigenous people of Guyana.

Granger administration not transparent

Dear Editor, The nation was promised so much by  APNU+AFC prior to May 2015, but after a year and a half in office and despite all the lip-service the APNU+AFC government proffers, the Granger-led administration  is entirely un-transparent.

The economy is contracting under the APNU+AFC government

Dear Editor, Contrary to what is being peddled in some quarters, the current APNU+AFC administration inherited an economy that was robust and dynamic and which had been generating employment for Guyanese mainly in the construction, mining and agriculture sectors.

Shoddy work repeated on same street

Dear Editor, The residents of Cotton Field, Essequibo Coast made several telephone calls to me while I was in Georgetown complaining that a contractor was doing shoddy work on the street leading from the public road to the Anna Regina Multilateral School.

We have the opportunity to make Guyana a more equal society

Dear Editor, Over the past week, much disappointment has been expressed about the Town Clerk’s treatment of vendors and NCN affairs involving the removal of Ms Natasha Smith from anchoring the evening news and the suspension of Ms Jocelle Archibald-Hawke without salary in social and traditional media.

Police and traffic lights

Dear Editor, I am sure everyone has noticed, as I have, that the police have taken over the control of traffic at major junctions, where traffic lights have been installed, and indeed I have to compliment them on the way they perform this task.
