Following correspondence from an entity which claimed that it had been authorized to take over all rights from John Fernandes Limited (JFL) regarding a collapsed $35m deal for 143 acres of land, the Beterverwagting/Triumph NDC last week wrote to JFL seeking a meeting to thrash out the issue.

Julian Dow of Lot 63, Perth Village,  East Coast Demerara (ECD), was last Thursday freed of the charge of possession of a firearm and ammunition after a city Magistrate upheld a no-case submission made by his attorney, Eusi Anderson.

Transparency Institute Guyana Inc  (TIGI) yesterday added its voice to growing calls for a commission of inquiry as regards the disclosures by VICE News on suggestions that there is an organized system of bribery of officials of government at very high levels and systems to provide money-laundering services.
