Dear Editor,   It is often said it is not doing things that matters, but rather the way they are done which matters most.

Dear Editor, We participants of the National Drama Festival – whose names are provided below – would like to address the recently concluded matter of late payments of prize monies due cast and crews of the winning productions of the 2013 festival. 

Dear Editor, Since last year November, the route 32 minibuses pasted up a notice informing passengers of an increase in fares.

Dear Editor, The study of history is often buttressed by an important anniversary as it concentrates the mind on events which tend to fade from memory.

Dear Editor, A trophy in honour of sports enthusiast and former broadcaster, Terry Holder, will be presented to the most promising Guyanese cricketer annually.

Dear Editor, The Minister of Culture, Dr Frank Anthony is clearly highly discomfited by public inquiries into the operations of his ministry, judging from the circuitous rhetoric, high vitriol and complete lack of substance in his ‘response’ (‘Most of Johnson’s tirade seems self-absorbed,’ SN, January 11) to my most recent interrogation of his failures on accountability and management with regard to the Caribbean Press.

Dear Editor, First, I must express my most sincere gratitude to Dr Roger Luncheon, and by extension the Government of Guyana, for responding to my concerns regarding democracy, trust and tragedy in our nation.

 Dear Editor,   Please allow me to add my few pennies as we follow the comments and charges as it relates to the National Cultural Centre in general.

Dear Editor, February 5, 2014 will be the 79th anniversary of commercial radio broadcasting in Guyana.

Dear Editor, If the editorial in the Sunday Stabroek of January 5 is to be taken as an indication of what is to come in 2014 from that newspaper, then the PPP has to take note and put its foot down now.

Dear Editor, I kindly request space in your publication to make the following clarification, regarding a matter of grave importance.

Dear Editor, I agree completely with Allan Fenty (‘Frankly Speaking’ SN, Jan 10) that the President is entitled to his dancing and singing in Brickdam, if that is what either could be termed. 

Dear Editor, I pen this letter with profound concern for the treatment of workers, now that 2014 has been designated the ‘Year of Workers’ by APNU.

Dear Editor, I write once again about the failure of the National Awards Committee in recognizing broadcasters who have contributed significantly to broadcasting not only in the Republic, but the Caribbean as well.

Dear Editor, On behalf of the Patron, President and Members of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club, I would like to extend our great sympathy to the family of our honorary member, Mr Terence Holder.

Dear Editor, Recently, I wrote a letter, namely, ‘Soldiers should remain professionals,’ published in the Stabroek News on December 31, 2013.

Dear Editor, It is time a more serious approach to this horrible noise abuse and continuous attack on people’s health, peace and comfort be taken more seriously by the authorities, especially on Sheriff and Seaforth Streets, Campbellville, respectively.

Dear Editor, The graphic image of a dog impaled on a fence (SN, Jan 7) as a result of the  bombardment of squibs which was worse than the year before, even though we were promised a proactive approach by the police has I’m sure saddened animal lovers because of the painful and unnecessary death.
