Dear Editor, Having read Minister of Culture Frank Anthony’s latest lament on the “troubles” plaguing the Caribbean Press, I reiterate my call for his resignation on the count of perpetual incompetence.

Dear Editor, The prevalence of domestic violence in our country has long ago reached alarming proportions and it would appear that hands are tied or the know-how to deal with and eliminate this scourge is absent.

Dear Editor, I refer to a report in Stabroek News’ online edition of January 1, 2014, captioned ‘Focus on training teachers as ministry zeroes in on quality of education.’

Dear Editor, Every country needs its civil society. It is that collective that reflects the values and soul of the nation.

Dear Editor, The dialectic approach adopted by A A Fenty in reaching a questionable conclusion on the matter of sovereignty has nothing to with his false claim regarding the merit of the position adopted by Dr Roger Luncheon in criticising US ambassador Brent Hardt for what can only be described as an audacious assault on the authority of the cabinet of this country. 

Dear Editor, On the rainy night of Saturday, December 28, 2013 a horse was hit down and lay dying on the Railway Embankment Road near Prince William Street in Plaisance. 

Dear Editor, The response from Ms Whyte, PRO of the Guyana Post Office Corporation to the letter by Ms Cynthia Nelson gives the impression that this practice of opening mail has only occurred in relation to mail arriving in Barbados from Guyana (‘GPOC has not received any report from Barbados Post Office of Guyana’s mail being cut open and taped,’ SN, January 4).

Dear Editor, It is with extreme sadness that I learnt of the death of Ms Gillian Thompson, Chief Librarian of the National Library.

Dear Editor, A Happy New Year! Can someone explain why whenever there is a party at Congress Place in Sophia, as there was last Old Year’s night, the music goes on until after 5:00hrs and at a very high decibel level?
