Harris to serve another three-year term

Barbadian Dudley Harris was returned to the helm of the World Council of Domino Federations (WCDF) for another three years when that body held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections at City Hall here in Georgetown last weekend.

Dudley staved off some stiff challenge from Antigua’s Raymond Debelotte to continue his reign at the helm of the WCDF until 2010. Georgetown’s deputy mayor Robert Williams retained his vice president (Administration) position while another Guyanese, namely Gwen Mc Gowan, is the new vice president with responsibilities for Marketing and Finance.

Barbadian Charles Lovell who once held the position of Public Relations Officer (PRO) is now the Secretary General, with Antiguan Rohan Cordice being the new PRO. Yonette Christmas (Guyana) has retained her position as Treasurer and Patrick Lissone (USA) was appointed area representative for North America.

The Executives of the WCDF also decided that Antigua will host the 2008 championships in October.

The full executive body reads: President- Dudley Harris, Vice President (Administration)- Robert Williams, Vice President (Marketing)- Gwen Mc Gowan, Secretary General – Charles Lovell, Treasurer- Yonette Christmas, PRO- Rohan Cordice and North American representative – Patrick Lissone
