Impressed with your new website

Dear Editor,

I must compliment Stabroek News’s new website. I don’t think any Caribbean-based website can now compare to Stabroek News’s new face online. I can only imagine that the various webmasters of the local and regional papers are now under pressure to create a site as user-friendly and delightful to visit.

The site is very intuitive and the navigation is very well done . I haven’t found myself looking for anything as everything is just where it should be. I’ve yet to find to a broken link which have become trademarks of Guyanese websites. The advertisements are not annoying or distracting but less would be better. I like the fact that the website uses Google Ads, which are sometimes informative and relate to the content on the page. I very much welcome the comments feature. My only complaint is that the comments usually take a while to go on the site since they need to be approved. But I suppose this must be so to avoid a situation such as the one Mr Sharma is currently in.
Immediately, I had assumed SN shelled out the big bucks for an overseas web designer, but then I was surprised to learn from a friend that it was created by a Guyanese. It is pleasing to be reminded that world-class professional skills still reside in Guyana. Hats off to you, sir.

Yours faithfully,
Harold Smith
