Edghill slams her way to three titles

Promising female junior player Chelsea Edghill slammed her way to three titles as the Independence table tennis tournament continued at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

Chelsea EdghillEdghill won the 11 years and under, the 13 years and under and the 15 years and under girls’ divisions.

In the 15 years and under girls final, Edghill upset number-one seed, Ambrose Thomas.
She had earlier defeated number two seed Adeille Rosheuvel in the semi final.
In the 11 years and under girls’ round robin playoff, Edghill got the better of Analisa Branche 2-1, Sara Narain 2-0, Natasha Joseph 2-0 and Sankar Devi 2-0.

Branche was second while the remaining places were taken by Narain, Joseph and Devi in that order.
In the 13 years and under  division, Edghill defeated Maria Lopes 3-1 in the final winning 11-8, 8-11, 11-5, and 11-5.

Third place went to Dominique Assing who defeated Akiecia Nedd 3-0 winning 12-10, 11-5, 12-10.
In the 15 years and under  division, Edghill defeated Thomas 3-1 winning 11-7, 3-11, 13-11, 11-9.
Rosheuvel defeated Britnee Prescod 13-11, 12-14, 11-6, 11-6 (3-1) for third place.
