GDF battled their way to a 2–0 victory over Santos in the feature match of the evening’s double header while Uprising nearly caused an upset against Fruta Conquerors but had to settle for a draw in the curtain raiser.

Dwight Peters added another goal to his tally in the opening minutes of the encounter as he found the back of the net in the 20th minute to give GDF the early lead going into the second half.

When play resumed GDF held a firm grip on the game and extended their lead when Gavin Wilson scored in the latter half of the final 45 minutes.

The 79th minute goal by Wilson made it a comfortable win for GDF as they held off Santos to the end allowing custodian Keith Fraser, who also performed excellently between the uprights, to obtain a clean sheet.

Uprising took an unexpected lead in their encounter against Fruta Conquerors when Omalli Nassy found the back of the net in the 23rd minute.

Uprising played good football to hold off Conquerors at the conclusion of the first 45 minutes.
After the resumption the Conquerors’ captain Neville Stanton scored the equalizer with a brilliant header which beat the goal-keeper to the bottom left corner of the goal following a free kick on the right flank just outside the 18-yard box which was taken by Sheldon Shepherd.

Several times both teams were in the mouth of the goal but could not finish,  Uprising more often than not. The easiest of opportunities came during a goal mouth scrimmage when the goalkeeper had no opportunity to prevent Uprising from scoring and Nassy was inside the six-yard box but could not thump it past the goal line.
