I was mesmerized when I read an interview with Mr Colin Klass, President of the GFF and a sports reporter. Mr Klass said, “The matter between the GFF and TAGMAN was resolved amicably.” What does this mean?
Were $7,000,000 (seven million dollars) from the sale of the tickets for the international match between Suriname and Guyana put into the coffers of the GFF? I would like to know how these monies were disbursed or if they were in fact handed over to the GFF.
We hear Mr Jack Warner preaching that football is the poor man’s sport which should be given help; we hear Mr Lumumba saying this matter should be investigated by the police; we hear about transparency. I urge the business community and supporters of football in Guyana to refrain from sponsoring and giving help to the GFF until Mr Klass and his council give the Guyanese public a credible explanation about what happened to the monies that the large crowd paid to see the football match at Providence Stadium between Suriname and Guyana.
