In the first match of the double header at Blairmont Ground, Real Union dominated play to record a 7-1 win over Monedderlust while Rosignol United outdid Pistons United 3 – 1.

The first half ended at 4 – 0 in Real Union’s favour with the goals coming from the boots of Delroy Fraser in the ninth, Godfrey Alexander the 12th, Delwin Fraser in the 28th and Kerwin Grant in the 33rd minute.

In the second half the brothers combined to inflict further damage on Monedderlust.

Delwin Fraser opened the second half by scoring in the 50th minute to complete his double while Delroy followed up with a double strike in the 70th and 85th minutes.

Monedderlust’s consolation goal was scored by Kenson Lindey in the 53rd minute.

Later in the day the feature match saw Rosignol United deflating a hyped- up Pistons United team who started on a high note after coming off a six – nil victory in their previous match.

Rosignol was often quicker to the ball and implemented various tactical manoeuvres to close the first half with two goals.

Rosignol’s Shawn “Uncle” Brutus opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a well-placed shot from just inside the box.

Thereafter, Roncy Caleb, quitting his role as goalkeeper, recorded a double in the 35th and 57th minutes.

Earlan Hinds, whose goal tally is now three from three, scored the Pistons consolation goal.

On Saturday at the Blairmont Ground, Mahaicony United secured a comfortable 2–0 win over Barzilla F.C.

Delbert Wilson netted in the ninth minute and Sherwin Caesar struck in the 53rd for the winners.

Malvern Adams had a very good match for Barzilla but failed to finish on several occasions.
Only one of the two rescheduled matches at the Blairmont Ground was contested on Thursday. In what turned out to be an unexpectedly close encounter, Rosignol United won 4-3 over Barzilla.

Roncy Caleb sent Rosignol United ahead in the 39th minute as the first half ended 1 – 0.

Barzilla equalized through a Mark Amsterdam effort in the 56th minute before Caleb scored again in the 61st minute with a well placed shot past the diving Barzilla custodian.

Rosignol scored again when Glenston Jhingoree netted six minutes later but Barzilla answered with two goals in two minutes from Amsterdam (70th) and Sylvester Smith (71) which helped Barzilla equalize the score again at three all.

However, a heroic effort from Real Union’s Jolyon Bishop four minutes from regulation time sealed the deal for his team.

Friday’s match between Real Union and Strike Force United was not played due to the late arrival of Strike Force United.

The competition’s technical committee is due to give a ruling based upon the outcome of a report which is to be submitted.
