-family baffled
A 36-year-old man was found dead yesterday morning in the Stabroek Market’s urinal. Nigel Butters of 156 South Better Hope was found on the floor of the urinal after persons were unable to access the facility. Butters oversees the market’s facility.
Gail Best, aunt of the deceased, said that she received a call around five in the morning and when she went down to the market her nephew was still lying on the floor of the urinal. She said that she then took him to the hospital. Best said that Butters’ death comes as a shock since he left for work “good, good, he wasn’t sick or anything”.
While the actual cause of death is still unknown, Best said that some persons were speculating that her nephew may have been poisoned. However, she said there were no signs of violence when she scanned his body before moving him.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Monday. Butters leaves to mourn two children and other family members.
