Flying Ace cycling club rolls of season tomorrow

The Flying Ace Cycle Club’s 2011 season gets cracking tomorrow with the staging of the annual Franco Crawford 46-mile road race.

The race will roll off from the Springlands Police Station at 10.00hrs and proceed to the finish line at Main and Alexander Streets.

Sponsor of the race and former Flying Ace club member, Franco Crawford, who now resides in London, England recently presented the sponsorship cheque for the upcoming race to coach of the club, Randolph Roberts.

Prizes will be awarded to the first 10 finishers, first cyclist from the Flying Ace cycling club, first three juveniles and first three females to cross the finish line.
Eight sprint prizes will also be up for grabs.

Meanwhile, the club held its election of office bearers for the 2011/2012 term last Friday.

Those elected were: John Lewis, president, Mursalene Bacchus, first vice president, Ganesh Singh, second vice president, Dhari Tulsi, third vice president, Margaret Kuna, secretary, Randolph Roberts, coach/treasurer/public relations officer and Neil Reece, club captain.
