– But another protest hits competition

xTutorial High school yesterday reached the Region Six semifinal of the nationwide Digicel Schools football competition after edging out Orealla by two goals to one.

Ray Reddock and Kevin Maniram scored for the winning team in the eighth and 65th minutes of play while Kelvin Dick scored for Orealla in the 90th minute.

Tutorial is scheduled to play Tagore Secondary School at the All Saints Ground, New Amsterdam, pending the outcome of a protest filed by Orealla which claimed that Tutorial fielded players over the stipulated age limit.

Tutorial’s Teacher/Manager Sukahnauth Utan said he was at a loss as to what the protest is about.
According to Utan none of his players are over the stipulated age requirement nor does he know who are the players since no player was identified in the protest.

Utan said he is prepared to walk with birth certificates for his players to prove that none of them are over aged.
He said  that there was one player which he called his star player Ronald August who was not entered into the competition because his date of birth was December 31st, 1994.

He claims that coordinator of the tournament Lavern Fraser-Thomas, advised him to only select players who were born in 1995 which is what he did.

Orealla also filed a protest against the officials claiming that they showed bias against Orealla evidenced by some bad calls which that team received.
