Police said yesterday that a man who attempted to commit a robbery was later found with a loaded gun in his possession.
According to a police press release at about 19:05 hours on Friday night Calvin Dover, 25 years, of 14 Bent Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown, was found with a 9MM pistol and eleven rounds of 9MM ammunition.
Investigations, police say, revealed that Dover attempted to rob a man at Demico in the vicinity of Stabroek Market. He was however, overpowered and disarmed by the man. The police were summoned and Dover was arrested.
He is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
