KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – Left-hander John Campbell struck his second half-century in as many games to extend his good run of form in the Jamaica trials for the upcoming first class season.
On Thursday, the 21-year-old Campbell made 88 as his XI finished the second day of the three-day contest at Sabina Park on 193 for six.
Campbell, a former Young West Indies player, faced 147 balls and counted seven fours and three sixes before driving a simple catch to Tamar Lambert at mid-off off leg-spinner Damion Jacobs.
Wicketkeeper/batsman Kemar Marshall scored exactly 50 off 111 balls, with four fours and two sixes.
Left-arm spinner Coi Thompson picked up two for 25 while Jacobs took two for 74.
Earlier, Paul Palmer’s XI were dismissed for 308 after resuming the day on 263 for four.
Brandon King struck 103 on Wednesday’s opening day before retiring hurt while Andre McCarthy carved out 57 and veteran Tamar Lambert, 51.
