Central Georgetown through to next round

Central Georgetown, Albouystown, Grove and Tiger Bay clinched berths to the next round when the Central Georgetown Police Youth Group coordinated Rainforest Water Knockout Futsal Championship continued yesterday.

Played at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue, Central Georgetown dismantled the East Bank of Demerara unit 5-1. Similarly, Tiger Bay progressed after a walkover from South Ruimveldt.

Also claiming a win via the walkover route was East Bank Demerara outfit Grove who defeated Georgetown unit Alberttown.

Meanwhile, in the lone girls encounter, Albouystown defeated Mocha 3-2 on penalty kicks after normal time ended scoreless. Action in the event continues on Saturday at the same venue with eight matches from 9:00hrs.
