Guyana U19 rugby team suffer narrow defeat

Guyana went down 31-33 on Thursday against The Bahamas in the final trophy pool match of the Rugby Americas North (RAN) U19 Championships underway in Miami, Florida.

The locals put on a spirited display against their group foes but were edged by a mere conversion.

Team Bahamas pulled out the win to head to the Trophy Final today against Jamaica.

Note: Jamaica defeated Guyana 24-9 in their pool match on Sunday.

The annual 2016 RAN Superweek started last Saturday and features 23 matches, 14 teams and a variety of administrative and educational events to further develop rugby in the region. Both the Men’s U19 Championships and the inaugural Women’s 10-a-side tournament will be played and streamed live throughout the week.
