Meanwhile, Trayon Bobb of Slingerz FC was crowned League Finale Most Valuable Player (MVP). Bobb led the sweep of individual awards for the Vergenoegen unit as he was selected the event’s best player via a voting process that consisted of individuals inclusive of the tourney’s management staff, competing clubs, match commissioners and media.

The winger secured the accolade after edging team-mate Julian Wade and Alpha United’s veteran sharpshooter Anthony Abrams.

Similarly, Slingerz FC claimed the Highest Goal Scorer award in the form of Wade with 14 conversions whilst teammate Winslow McDowall copped the Best Goalkeeper trophy with only eight goals conceded.

Completing the haul for the Vergenoegen unit was Joseph Wilson who received the Best Coach Accolade. Wilson clinched the trophy after edging Alpha United coach Wayne Dover and former Fruta Conquerors tactician Calvin Allen.

Slingerz FC also received the trophy for the Most Points Accumulated in the division alongside their second place trophy while the Most Disciplined Team trophy went to Buxton United.

GFF President Wayne Forde during a brief comment thanked the company for coming on board, stating that corporate support is important to the development of the sport.

According to Forde, the key stakeholders who are the players and fans must be thanked because without them the sport would not exist, noting while the league posed a few challenges, it was a great tournament and the nation can already see the benefit on the international level.

He added that the league has provided the ideal platform for the sport’s evolution and that it will be improved upon in the next round, declaring that ANSA McAl must be commended as they came on board when there was no sponsorship for senior football at the national level.
