Rescheduled Hamilton Green 9-a-side Championship for Sunday kickoff

Following its rescheduling due to an inundated playing area on July 7th, the Hamilton Green Inter-Ward 9-a-side Championship is slated to conclude at the Den Amstel Community Centre ground on Sunday.

The opening match will pit Mahaicony against Vreed-en-Hoop at 15:00 hours, while Soesdyke will lock horns with Liliendaal at 15:30 hours.

In the third fixture, Mocha battles Charlestown at 16:00 hours, with Pouderoyen taking aim at Timehri from 16:30 hours and Goed Fortuin matching skills with De Kinderen at 17:00 hours.

Sophia will then tackle Bourda Blues from 17:30 hours, with Den Amstel Back Street facing-off with Zeelugt at 18:00 hours and Uitvlugt opposing Bagotsville from 18:30 hours.

The eventual winners will advance to the quarterfinal round thence to the semi-finals and final. Four substitutions are permitted in this format, with each game running for 30 minutes with two halves of 15 minutes each.

If normal time is unable to produce a winner, sudden death penalty kicks will be utilised to decide the outcome.

The winner of the annual tournament will pocket $300,000 and the John Fernandes trophy, with the second-place finisher pocketing $100,000 and the Courtney Benn trophy.

Similarly, the eventual champion and runner-up will receive hampers compliments of Ricks & Sari Ltd.
