Two residents of Rasville Housing Scheme, who were accused of stealing almost $300,000 in articles from a house they allegedly broke into, were yesterday granted their pre-trial liberty after they denied the allegation.

Andrew Clarke, 19, and Destiny Fredericks, 30, both denied the joint break and enter charge, which was read by Senior Magistrate Leron Daly in the George-town Magistrates’ Court Two.

The charge stated that between the 9th and 10th of August at Caneville Avenue, the duo broke and entered the dwelling house of Cyril Adams and stole a laptop valued $180,000, a phone valued $80,000 and $26,000 in cash.

Attorney Paul Fung-A-Fat, who represented Fredericks, told the court that on the day in question, his client had just gotten off a motorcycle near the house when she was accused of the offence. Further, he said, the witnesses did not see her in the yard as allegedly occurred with Clarke and she does not know her co-accused.

With no objection by the prosecutor, the defendants were granted bail in the sum of $50,000 each. Their next scheduled court appearance is on September 11th, 2019.
