GCC begins title defence against MSC

Defending champions the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) will begin their title defence of the New Building Society (NBS) second-division 40 overs tournament against the Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) on Saturday. 

The colour clothing contest will be played at MSC with first ball set to bowl off from 10:30hrs.

The other fixtures on Saturday will see Sophia visiting Police while the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) will host the Transport Sports Club (TSC) as Everest battle Ace Warriors at home.  Sunday’s fixtures include a contest between Diplomats and the Gandhi Youth Organization(GYO) at Everest, Third Class against the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) at Police ground, and GNIC battling Bel Air Rubis at DCC. 

Meanwhile, the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) via a release has informed that Bel Air Rubis – an East Coast Team – had applied to participate in GCA’s second-division competitions. The release added that the application was approved which will see the East Coast side battling against City teams from here on.
