It was a day of drawn affairs, when the West Demerara Football Association [WDFA] leg of the NAMILCO U17 Football Championship continued yesterday at the Uitvlugt ground.
In the feature contest, Uitvlugt and Pouderoyen battled to a 2-2 stalemate. Shaquille Gilkes handed Uitvlugt the lead in the eighth minute, racing into the penalty area before placing his effort into the far corner beyond the reach of the goalkeeper.
Pouderoyen responded in the 15th minute in the form of Jarel Phoenix who slotted past the goalkeeper, calmly capping off a quick passing combination.
Shamar Rodney then handed Pouderoyen the lead 10 minutes later, uncorking a powerful strike from the centre of the field into the back of the net.
However, Uitvlugt would level proceedings three minutes later, rifling a powerful shot from the top of the penalty box which sailed into the top right hand corner. Meanwhile, Hurry ATE and Den Amstel battled to a scoreless result.
