Defending champion Annandale, the Bishops’ High and Marian Academy were amongst the winners when the GuyOil/Tradewind Tankers Secondary School Football League continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Annandale mauled Cummings Lodge 8-0. Seon Haywood recorded a hat-trick in the 11th, 17th and 40th minute, while Colin Henriques tallied three strikes in the first, 28th and 65th minute. Adding a double was Omari Glasgow in the 10th and 55th minute.
On the other hand, the Bishops’ High edged St. Stanislaus College 2-1. Malachi Richards fashioned a double in the ninth and 27th minute. For the loser, Joshua Kings netted in the 22nd minute.
Similarly, Marian Academy needled Queen’s College 1-0. Ricardo Percival separated the two teams with a 10th-minute strike.
The event continues today at the same venue with a doubleheader. At 15:00hrs, Charlestown will lock horns with President’s College, while Lodge Secondary opposes St. John’s from 16:30hrs.
