Grove Hi-Tech defeats Mocha Champs 4-2

Grove Hi-Tech downed Mocha Champs 4-2 when the East Bank Football Association (EBFA) Senior League continued yesterday at the National Training Centre, Providence.

The match started positively for Mocha in the 80-minute affair as they took the lead in the 25th minute through Shamar Jones. The lead proved to be short-lived as Lloyd Matthews equalized two minutes later.

Mocha would respond in the form of Sheldon Hope who found the back of the net in the 31st minute to restore their one goal advantage.

Nonetheless Grove would seize control of the contest as they recorded three unanswered goals. The first came off the boot of Orin Hunte who levelled proceedings in the 41st minute.

This was followed by Denzil Crawford, scorer of a 44th minute conversion to push the score to 3-2. The result was then sealed in the 80th+2 minute compliments of a Joel Dick strike.

Meanwhile Soesdyke Falcons and Timehri Panthers played to a 3-3 stalemate. Colin McLean handed Soesdyke the initial lead with a 23rd minute strike. However the response came two minutes later from Timehri as Oliver Denny scored.

Soesdyke retook the lead in the 37th as Marvin Joseph etched his name on the scorer’s sheet. The sea-saw nature of the contest continued as Timehri restored parity to proceedings compliments of a 44th minute conversion from Tyrone Khan.

Jarel Walcott would then give Timehri their first lead of the match via a 72nd minute effort. Nonetheless Skellon Billson earned his side a share of the spoils as he equalized in the 88th minute.
