Corentyne 50-mile cycling race set for Sunday

The roads of Corentyne will be transformed into a cycling battleground on Sunday when the eighth edition of the Guyana Beverage Company’s 50-mile race is staged from 10:00hrs.

Organised by the Flying Ace Cycle Club (FACC), the fixture is open to riders throughout Guyana.

The event rolls off  in front of the company’s office at Palmyra, proceeds to No. 36 Village and then returns to the point of origin for the finish.

Ten sprint prizes will be on offer for the gruelling fixture.

According to reports, the first 10 finishers, along with the first three juniors and veterans, will be handsomely rewarded. The first cyclist from FACC will also receive a special prize. Team Evolution’s Paul DeNobrega was victorious in last year’s event. He will be looking for a repeat on Sunday.
