Super50 Cup: Guyana defeats Windwards by four wickets

Guyana defeated the Windward Islands by four wickets with 52 balls remaining in the  Colonial Medical Insurance Super50 Cup one-day yesterday and Christopher Barnwell maintained a rich vein of form striking 89.

In Port of Spain, the Windward Islands rattled up 258-5 from their allotment with Devon Smith striking 93. He was supported by Emmanuel Stewart with 51 and Keron Cottoy with 45.

In the Guyana innings, Barnwell,  89, was supported by Raymon Reifer with 45, Chanderpaul Hemraj with 40 and Leon Johnson with 34.

Veerasammy Permaul took 2 for 34 off of 9 overs.

This is Guyana’s third win in four matches.
