Kwakwani cops two titles as YBG Titan Bowl c/ships conclude

President’s College copped the U18 boys title while Kwakwani secured the girls and boys U16 divisions when Youth Basketball Guyana [YBG] Titan Bowl Championships concluded on Sunday.

Played at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue, President’s College edged New Amsterdam Technical Institute (NATI) 60-54. Jushawn Bailey, the section’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), led the way with 21 points and seven rebounds.

He was assisted by Gabriel Lim who tallied 16 points and 23 rebounds. For NATI, Kadeen Dover had 21 points, seven rebounds and six steals. Adding 15 points and 13 rebounds was Charles Williams.

In the girls final, Kwakwani brushed aside Marian Academy 50-29. Shania Sears, the division’s eventual MVP, tallied 29 points and seven rebounds while Atalia Rose added nine points and 11 rebounds.

For Marian Academy, Kelliann Sauers tallied 16 points, eight rebounds and five steals.  Kwakwani then made it two titles on the night when they defeated Arima 39-34 in the boys U16 final. Elijah David scored 12 points while the division MVP Hosea Conway, tallied six points and 10 rebounds. For Arima, Kelon Philips tallied 14 points and Jamal Lyte added eight points and nine rebounds.
