Trophy giant, Trophy Stall has enhanced their partnership with the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) to the tune of a whopping  $500,000 sponsorship.

According to the BCB, the deal, which took place last week, is a historic one with the Bourda-based company providing trophies for the Man-of-the-Match and the first and second place winners in 20 tournaments to be organized by the BCB this year.

The presentation also saw the handing over of $400,000 worth of balls on behalf of an overseas-based Berbician.

The BCB indicated that in the last two years, over $600,000 has been spent towards trophies and with the support of Managing Director, Ramesh Sunich and his company, that money can be used to further develop other aspects of the game including coaching programmes and preparation for Inter-County tournaments.

President of the BCB, Hilbert Foster, expressed gratitude to Sunich for his support and explained that under the sponsorship, all Berbice junior Inter-County teams will be named after Trophy Stall while the company would be promoted at all BCB matches.

“The board is looking at avenues of cutting back on administrative cost and areas such as meals and refreshments for finals, internet, transportation and stationery, sponsorship for these are currently being sought, after so that more funding can be placed into developmental programme,” Foster noted.

Sunich in brief remarks, congratulated the BCB on its work and stated that he was delighted to support the development of Berbice Cricket.

“Trophy Stall,” the popular businessman noted, “is fully committed to the development of sports as it is a safe avenue for youths to stay away from social ills such as drugs and crime.”
