Flying Ace CC/Seven Seas 40-miler set for Sunday

The Flying Ace Cycling Club will pedal off their first event of the 2020 season with a 40-mile road race Sunday sponsored by Massy Distribution Limited under their Seven Seas brand.

The race is set to pedal off from 9am at Main and Alexander Streets, New Amsterdam and will see the riders going to Adventure where they will turn around at “Taki” Gas Station and head back to the point of origin for the finish.

According to organizer, Randolph Roberts, there will be prizes for the first five finishers and two juveniles. Roberts added that the first three, 12-14 year-old riders will also receive prizes but will be tasked with completing a 10-mile race from Benjamin’s Fitness to Main and Alexander Streets.

Roberts also said that the club and its members wanted to express sincere sympathy to the family of deceased cyclist, Jude Bentley, and will observe a minute’s silence before the start of the race.

He added that he expects about 25 riders for the race, which is open only to wheelsmen from the Ancient County.

He thanked the sponsors for coming on board with the development of the sport.
