League leader and undefeated outfit Guyana Defence Force (GDF) moved one step closer to being crowned the champion of the Women’s Division One League, disarming their arch-rival, the Guyana Police Force (GPF), 3-0 on Tuesday evening.

Staged at the National Training Centre in Providence, East Bank Demerara, the highly competitive encounter produced only one conversion in the first half, as Glendy Lewis found the back of the net in the 16th minute.

Jalade Trim (no. 19) of GDF is trying to evade the pursuits of two GPF players.

Jalade Trim would then make her presence felt following the resumption of play as she doubled GDF’s lead in the 55th minute. The contest was then sealed in the 81st minute, as Glengie Lewis, sister of Glendy, etched her name on the scorer’s sheet.

Jalade Trim (green) is in the process of
challenging the GPF forward for possession.

The other competing teams in the league are the Fruta Conquerors, Potaro Strikers, and Pakuri Warriors.
