Second round of Mocha ‘Village Cup’ begins tonight

Following the conclusion of the group stage on Wednesday, the round of 16 section in the Lets Bet Sports-sponsored Mocha ‘Village Cup’ Streetball Championship commences this evening at the Mocha Primary School tarmac with four slated matches.

In the opening match, Future Stars will lock horns with Unruly from 20:00hrs, with Smally battling Ballers Empire from 20:30hrs. In the third match, Family faceoff with Upsetters from 21:00hrs, while 2020 Winners engage Young Stars at 21:30hrs.

The second night of action in the round of 16 section will occur on February 17th at the same venue.

Meanwhile, defending champion One n Move, Young Stars, Smally, and Dream Chasers were amongst the winners on Wednesday in the final night of group play.

One n Move edged Hardball 1-0. Recent recruit Adrian Aaron slammed home from the right side to seal the win in the 14th minute. Likewise, Young Stars upset Family 1-0. Bilaal Jabar found the back of the net in the 17th minute, slotting into the roof of the goal, after latching onto a right-sided pass.

Meanwhile, Smally defeated Scheme Warriors 2-0. Edward Griffith and Roy Samuels scored in the 12th and 18th minute respectively. Also, Dream Chasers downed Nelson Street Warriors 2-0. Jared Cumberbatch and Joshua Liverpool scored in the 11th and 17th minute respectively.

In other results, Touches edged Frontside 2-1 on penalty kicks after regulation time ended scoreless. Similarly, Lack ah Scene bested Future Stars 2-1 on penalty kicks after normal time ended 0-0.

The winner of the event will pocket $200,000, with the second, third and fourth place finishers receiving $100,000, $50,000 and $25,000 respectively. Below features the fixtures for the round of 16 section.
