Cops probing death of Pouderoyen fish vendor

The police in Region 3 are investigating the death of a Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara (WBD) fish vendor whose lifeless body was found a short distance from his home yesterday morning.

The dead man has been identified as Hanuman Jadunauth also known as “Anil”, 44 of Lot 16 Swan Street, Pouderoyen, WBD.

Divisional Commander Simon McBean yesterday told Stabroek News that Jadunauth’s body was discovered around 5am yesterday by his uncle.

Jadunauth body bore two wounds; one to his chest and one to his neck.

McBean said while investigators believe that Jadunauth might have been murdered, they are awaiting an autopsy. “The wounds, we are open to the fact that it may be inflicted. It could have been inflicted by someone else, so yes we are open to the fact that it could be a murder but we are awaiting to confirm,” he said.

Stabroek News was told that Jadunauth was last seen alive around 5pm on Monday.
