He noted that Rojas who was said to be directly under the shed at the time of the incident, sustained injuries to his head as a result of being pinned between the roof and a wheelbarrow, while Persaud his workmate, suffered minor injuries.

A third worker escaped unhurt.

According to the representative, Rojas is currently in the Intensive Care Unit, at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), where he is being monitored closely, as he is slipping in and out of consciousness.

Persaud who suffered minor injuries, was treated at the Woodlands Hospital and sent away.

When Stabroek News visited the worksite yesterday, Persaud was observed to be on the site, sitting among other colleagues.

GPH Communications Manager Chelauna Providence, told this newspaper that Rojas was “stable and resting.”
