Baramita man chopped by woman after assaulting her

A Baramita man is currently nursing several chop wounds about his body after he assaulted his female drinking partner.

Police said twenty-four-year-old Deon Henry, a miner of Logg Hill Village, Baramita, North West District, was attacked by his companion at around 7.15pm on Thursday.

According to preliminary investigations, Henry was drinking with the suspect when he dealt her several slaps to her face.

Angered by the attack, the woman left the area and later returned armed with a cutlass and dealt the victim several chops about his body.

Bleeding profusely, Henry managed make his way home and inform his family of what transpired before he was rushed to the Baramita Health Centre. He received medical attention and was sent away.

The suspect is still to be apprehended by the police.
