Coonjah detailed the corporation’s history here noting that Guyana welcomed Massy more than fifty years ago as a spare parts company. Among the numerous additions to its business here was the production of the Tapir vehicle which he noted they are immensely proud of. He listed other additions as Nissan, Massy Ferguson, and Iveco in their dealership division while in their distribution division the brands added were: Powermaster, Mora Batteries, as well as Pirelli and Goodyear tyre brands.

“In June 2019, Massy Motors completed full alignment with our business unit portfolio, the motor and machinery unit. At this time our company was renamed from Massy Industries to Massy Motors. It has been a long and challenging year. However, 2020 has been truly transformational for us…” Coonjah said.

Massy is the sole dealer in Guyana for Mitsubishi forklifts and pallet jacks. The company in August of last year partnered with Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas Inc. and has reserved the right as their sole representative for their full range of Mitsubishi forklift trucks including support services.

Mack on the other hand has been recognized over the last 120 years for their production of durable as well as heavy-duty trucks and engines. Mack is also part of the Volvo Group considered to be one of the leading trucks manufacturers globally.

Meanwhile, the company has added to their automotive division, the Jeep brand. The Jeep is available in the Jeep Compass, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Rangler and Jeep Gladiator Pickups which are all right-hand drive.

Massy is also now the home and macro distributor for Shell Lubricants in Guyana and eighteen other territories.

The company also announced during the launch, plans to construct a new modern dealership in the same location.
