An 82-year-old retired priest was found dead with multiple stabs about his body at his home on Monday.

According to the police, the murder of  George Chuck-A-Sang of Vlissengen Road, Lodge occurred between last Friday and Monday afternoon about 3 pm  at his home.

It was revealed that Chuck-A-Sang lived alone at him home which is located in the yard of the St. Sidwell’s Anglican Church.  According to the Police, his daughter Renata Chuck-A-Sang said that she made contact with her father about 8 am last Friday and they spoke as per normal.

She stated that she attempted to make contact with him at about 3 pm on Monday via WhatsApp but his phone rang out. She subsequently went to the home of the now-deceased but was unable to make contact with him.

As a result she went to the residence of St. Sidwell’s current priest, Monsell Alves, of North-East La Penitence and told him she was unable to contact her father. As such they both went into her father’s home and they discovered the body of the deceased lying motionless on the floor clad only in his underwear on the upper floor of the building.

Several stab wounds were seen about his body and his forehead appeared swollen. Following the discovery, he was escorted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The body is presently lying at the Lyken Funeral Home awaiting a Post Mortem Examination.  Investigations are ongoing.

In March of 2017, Chuck-A-Sang was appointed as Chairman of the Commission of Inquiry into Land Ownership.
