Twenty-eight more COVID-19 cases recorded

Twenty-eight new COVID-19 cases were recorded yesterday after 329 persons were tested.

This was revealed through the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 dashboard which shows that the 28 new cases, have pushed the total number of infected in the country to 6,407. And the total number of persons tested for the virus to date has increased to 39,324.

The cases were recorded in nine of Guyana’s ten administrative Regions; five new cases in Region One, two new cases each in Regions Two, Three and Eight, 11 in Region Four, one case each in regions Five, Seven and Nine, and three new cases in Region Ten. The number of active cases in the country now stands at 288 with 18 in institutional isolation and 270 in home isolation.

One more person has been added as a patient at the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), increasing the total number of patients there to five. Forty-six persons are in institutional quarantine while 12 more persons have recovered. The total number of recovered cases now stands at 5,948.
