James Street man held with suspected cannabis

A James Street, Albouystown resident was yesterday afternoon arrested by police during a stop and search exercise which  unearthed 22 grams of narcotics in his possession.

Police said that at about 11.40 am, a party of police stopped the man as he was riding motorcycle CK 7505.

As the police conducted the search, a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis was found in a black plastic bag. The bag was hanging on the left handle of the motorcycle.

Police said the man was told of the offence committed, cautioned and arrested.

Charges are likely to be laid during the course of this week.
