Overnight showers over the capital city of Georgetown forced the lone Georgetown Cricket Association/GISE/Star Party Rental/Trophy Stall first-division, two-day tournament fixture between Police Sports Club (PSC) and Transport Sports Club (TSC) to end in a draw.

The second day did not see a ball being bowled as the thunderstorm converted the Eve Leary Ground into a virtual pool.

According to match official, Moses Ramnarine, while the rain had stopped temporarily, the threat of it was important to note. He also stated that due to moisture on the wicket and a seepage under the covers, the pitch was unlikely to dry under the conditions.

Coach of PSC, Ryan Hercules, explained that it was disappointing to come through from such a position of dominance and settle for a drawn encounter.

He also indicated that he was impressed with the way century makers, Kevlon Anderson and Kevon Boodie, batted.

The coach said that he is optimistic about the upcoming semi-finals.

PSC were in control of the match from the onset, winning the toss and inserting the visitors, who were restricted to 101. PSC then raced to a mammoth 370 for three with Anderson poised for a big score as he closed the first day on 129 not out. Anderson had already built a partnership of 55 with Pernell London (11 not out) after sharing in a 248-run stand with  Boodie, who made 161.

PSC has already booked their spot in the semi-final of the tournament as well as the Everest Cricket Club. How they finish on the points table will determine which of the powerhouses in Georgetown Cricket Club and Demerara Cricket Club they will face.

The semi-final is tentatively set for this upcoming weekend.
