Anthony wins Linden Town Week Classic

Team Foundation’s Michael Anthony cruised to the checkered flag in the Open category of the Linden Town Week cycling classic Sunday.

The event was organized by Linden Bauxite Flyers in collaboration with the Region 10 Tourism Committee and Linden Mayor and City Council and held in Linden.

It was sponsored by Banks DIH Limited.

The 15-lap Mackenzie circuit event saw Anthony securing pole position ahead of Linden Bauxite Flyers’ Nigel London and Andre Forrester who were second and third respectively. Garfield Lorimer finished fourth while Team Evolution’s Christopher Cornelius ended fifth.

In the veterans’ five-lap race, Lorimer was the top rider followed by London and Nigel Carrington in that order.

The BMX two-lap race was won by Javin Henry of Linden Bauxite Flyers. In the juniors’ eight-lap fixture, Linden Bauxite Flyers dominated as their riders, Elisha Rutherford, Andre Forrestor and Mark Lewis Jr., completed the podium from first to third respectively.

Meanwhile, in the juveniles’ race, Lewis Jr., reigned supreme over the five laps. He was trailed by Kevin Stephens and Samuel Bellamy in that order.

In the female division, Linden’s Susan Hamilton won the five-lap race ahead of second placed Clivecia Spencer of Team Coco.
