LONDON, CMC – West Indies Test captain, Kraigg Brathwaite, failed as Gloucestershire struggled, leaving them with a huge task of saving their County Championship game against Leicestershire.

Replying to the visitors’ 421, Gloucestershire ended day two at Bristol on 176 for six, still trailing by 245 runs heading into today’s day three in the southwest.

Captain Chris Dent top-scored with 53 at the top of the order while number seven George Hankins struck an unbeaten 29 in a 55-run, unbroken seventh wicket stand with Tom Smith (19 not out), which revived the innings from 121 for six.

Brathwaite managed just nine, lbw to veteran new ball seamer Chris Wright who finished with four for 24, as the hosts lost their first wicket with 28 on the board.

Dent combined with wicketkeeper James Bracey (27) in a 71-run stand for the second wicket before the innings went into free fall with five wickets tumbling for 22 runs.

Earlier, Lewis Hill converted his overnight 77 into 121 while Ben Mike hit 54, helping Leicestershire to push on after resuming on 264 for four.

Seamer Daniel Worrall, who played three ODIs for England five years ago, picked up five for 79.

At New Road, Windies pacer Alzarri Joseph (2-92) failed to add to his wickets tally from overnight as Essex piled up a massive 561 for eight declared.

At Cardiff, Kent with West Indies fast bowler Miguel Cummins plunged to a 10-wicket defeat in two days following another stunning batting collapse, which saw them slump to 74 all out in their second innings to follow up their 138.

Glamorgan, 109 at the start, were bowled out for 197 with Cummins picking up a single wicket, and they easily got the 16 required for victory with Cummins going wicket-less.
